The scholarship is awarded on its potential to fulfill the applicants’ desires to participate in a dance experience, program, or workshop that will enrich their lives. Funds are restricted to “underserved individuals or individuals with a disability who reside in Albany or Schenectady County.”
How to Apply for Scholarship
Eligibility – Applicants must be 14+ years old and meet both Criteria “underserved or disabled individuals” who “reside in Albany or Schenectady County.”
- Become a student or individual member of Dance Alliance if you are not already. Register Today!
- Complete the online application form and submit by May 5, 2023.
- Ask two of the following: current dance teacher, coach, counselor, respite worker, mentor, or employer to write a recommendation for you. Please have them submit the letter through the online scholarship reference letter form by by May 5, 2023.
The recipient is required to submit a follow-up report of the dance experience no later than 90 days after disbursement of the scholarship funds. This report will be read at the Dance Alliance Board meeting and will include details of what the grantee learned. This report and a photo will be posted on the Dance Alliance website and may be used for marketing purposes.
All scholarship applicants will be notified of their status by Monday, May 10, 2023.
