National Museum of Dance will be hosting a program focusing on the care and healing of the dancer’s extraordinary instrument of art—the body! Our professional presenters will be discussing essential information for budding dancers, serious students, and adults alike. Come learn about how the body works, common dance injuries, and good nutrition. This is a free event and all are encouraged to come—dancer or not!

The National Museum of Dance is presenting this program to tie in with one of their newest exhibits, EnPointe!, sponsored by Bloch, Capezio, Freed, Gaynor Minden, Grishko, and Suffolk. The exhibit features an in-depth look at ballet shoes: their history, how they are made, and the realities of wearing them.

Featured in this special event for any level dancer, friends, and families will be:

Eliza Minden, Head of Design at Gaynor Minden, Author of The Ballet Companion

Linda Hamilton, Ph.D., Wellness Consultant with NYCB, author of The Dancers Way: The New York City Ballet Guide to Mind, Body, and Nutrition

Kim Teter, Physical Therapist specializing in young athletes and dance related injuries, former dancer with American Ballet Theatre

Meghan Del Prete, owner of Reform: A True Pilates Studio in Saratoga Springs, Skidmore College Dance Department Faculty

Julia Erickson, Principal Dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, and Aaron Ingley, former Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre dancer, developers of Barres, real food bars designed for dancers as a pre-class or rehearsal snack. Barres will be available to sample at the museum’s event!

RSVPs for the event are appreciated by calling Susan Edwards at 518-584-2225 x3009 or e-mailing sue@dancemuseum.org
