The University at Albany Performing Arts Center is pleased to present Flamenco Vivo II on Thursday, October 4, at 7:30pm. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this five-member ensemble of artists, under the direction of Artistic Director Carlota Santana, presents an evening of flamenco music, song and dance.  Intense speed, sensual partnering and stiletto movement are trademarks of Santana’s artists who are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary season and tour nationally to build bridges between cultures using the universal spirit of flamenco.

Carlota Santana, Artistic Director and Founder of both Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana and Flamenco Vivo II, has been designated “The Keeper of Flamenco” by Dance Magazine in recognition of her commitment to creating new works and developing young artists and choreographers. This performance culminates a four day residency by Flamenco Vivo II who will be conducting various outreach activities both on and off-campus.  As part of the residency, there will also be a special morning matinee performance for high school groups on Friday, Oct. 4 at 10am. Info. and reservations for this matinee are available.
